At Open Arms we want our children to know and understand that they are part of a larger world.  God stepped out of Heaven to walk the earth with us, the baby grew into the man Jesus who took all of our sins onto Himself.  Jesus subjected Himself to death on the cross because He loves us.  He loves us so much that He would rather die on the cross for our sins than live without us.

When we accept the amazing gift of God’s love and sacrifice we realize that we are nothing without Him and that everything we have really belongs to Him.  God has blessed us beyond measure.

While on earth Jesus told us that the poor will always be with us (Matthew 26:11; Mark 14:7; John 12:8).  He also told us to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:38-40; Mark 12:31; Luke 10:27; Romans 13:9; Galatians 5:14; James 2:8).  This is where the Good Samaritan Initiative comes from.

Throughout the school year, we showcase a different children’s charity to bring awareness and support to that organization.  Sometimes we are looking for donations of needed items, such as school supplies or clothing; other times we are asking for monetary support and always we are asking for prayer support.

Some of the charities we have sponsored in the past include St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 4KenyasKids and Special Olympics.
