February Newsletter

With our first month of 2024 over, I can say we are off to a wonderful start to the new year! We have welcomed many new families to our school and are enjoying watching the new students explore, learn, and make new friends. We have some very exciting “new things” on the horizon, and I look forward to updating you soon.

We are now entering that time of year when we are all being mindful of the weather and school closings. In the event of incremental weather, Open Arms will close if Fulton County closes. Should Fulton County be closed due to a Teachers Workday and Open Arms is open, we will follow closures of surrounding counties such as Dekalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, and Forsyth. Closures will be announced on local news channels, and we will send out emails and messages on Brightwheel as soon as we are aware.

School Growth and Facility Upgrades
Our school has seen substantial growth in nearly every class! In fact, we only have a few spots remaining in the entire preschool and infant wing and continue to give tours to new families interested in our school. I would like to give a special thanks to many of you that have referred families to us as well as your continued support of enrollment in Open Arms.

Open Arms will be repairing and replacing the playground fences which are well overdue. There will be a transition from the current keypads to enter the building to fobs. Each parent will be given one fob, and we ask that they are not shared with family members. The front office staff will gladly assist with them entering the school. Finally, the current lights in all classrooms, hallways and kitchen area will be getting replaced within the next few weeks. During all these upcoming projects we ask that you please pardon the mess.

GA Pre-K

Registration for GA Pre-K will start mid-month. You will be notified when the applications are available and required information required to complete the enrollment process. Spots will be given to long-standing families first, next newly enrolled families and if any space remains those spaces will be opened to the public. There are 22 spaces available in both GA Pre-K classrooms. Once the enrollment process is completed rosters will be generated. Once rosters are finalized, they cannot be changed.

As always, I have an open-door policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Continued Blessings to All,

Ms. Kisha Torres
