Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
Our greatest gift is to be able to share the love we have received from Jesus Christ with the children in our care. We view our role here at Open Arms as a sacred trust given to us by the families we serve. We value each child as a unique and special child of God – full of curiosity, love and untapped potential.
Choosing a childcare facility is one of the hardest decisions a parent must face. Open Arms provides a warm, peaceful environment with Christian values and a well-rounded faith-based curriculum that nurtures self-esteem, emotional security and independence. We consider it an honor to partner with you in a spiritual, social, emotional, physical and academic development of your child.
Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all of the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, and athletic or other school administered programs.
Our Goals & Missions
One in Christ Curriculum is used in connection with the Georgia Early Learning & Development Standards (GELDS) to help provide your child with an individualized learning experience. The One in Christ Curriculum for Preschoolers offers a wide variety of ways to teach children in the learning process while enabling them to develop confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
It is our goal here at Open Arms to see that all our teachers can be confident that they are meeting important early learning milestones; on a daily basis, while bringing their own creativity and knowledge into the daily planning process.
It is our mission to have learning come in all forms through our many rich and diverse activities; some areas of concentration include but are not limited to:
- Circle time
- Large and Small group activities
- Science
- Cooking projects
- Art and Outdoors exploration
By using these teaching strategies and adhering to the established guidelines children should thrive and develop lifelong skills that will help them to navigate through their educational careers.
One in Christ is a Christ centered curriculum that was developed based on experts in the child development area. These experts include Vygotsky, Erikson, Piaget Kohlberg, Maslow, Gardner, and Bronfenbrenner. With this curriculum children are given the opportunity to explore God’s world while developing skills such as math and science, language development and listening skills and creative artistic development. Even snack is incorporated as a fun learning tool to help with a child’s developmental process. We look forward to watching your child learn and grow through this program.
